Shanghai
A metropolis city that is a leader in showing off modern China through its architecture and infrastructures.
Shanghai is a huge, metropolitan city that is vastly growing. My friend, Susan, raves about Shanghai and I was compelled to go. Shanghai is pretty similar to Hong Kong in the sense that it is a metropolitan city. The skyline is painted with many different skyscrapers such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, and the Shanghai Tower. I was lucky enough to have such clear, blue skies when I went to the Bund to check out the skyline. I visited Old Town where the Yu Gardens to get an old feel of the city but then walked to the French Concession where there are so many little cafes and is a really cute area. Tianzifang is also a cool, interesting place to walk around, shop, and eat. In addition to that, make sure to check out the Urban Planning Exhibition. You learn about Shanghai but in a really interesting way and from a different perspective, which I thought was cool. The weather was beautiful the weekend I visited so I that good weather added to a great trip.
