In addition to that, I finally started to teach my classes this past Monday and they're great! The students have pretty good English at such a young age. At their age, I didn't learn how to speak another language and it really surprises me how well they know the language thus far. I definitely get a couple of blank stares from some students but overall they seem to understand.
These past weeks have been great in Hong Kong. I feel like I didn't really have a chance to be homesick because once I got off the plane, it was just go go go. Now that I'm settled in, things have calmed down a bit. I definitely miss my family, friends, and Chipotle but all in all I'm really starting to love the city. Going on the Junk Boat made me really appreciate my opportunity to teach English abroad. I don't think I could have picked a better city. There's always something to do and it's really easy to meet people since it is such a transient city filled with a lot of expats. And of course, the school is great and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
Just traveling the world and sharing my adventures and experiences.
