Bilbao
A city dominating in iron and steel that is slowly turning from industry to tourism
This was another city stop on my high school Spring Break trip to Northern Spain. On the way to Bilabo, we got to stop at San Sebastian where we laid out on the beach. Bilbao has a totally different vibe than Barcelona except for the fact that they have a separate language. Bilbao is in the Basque Country where they speak Basque. Don't worry because they speak Spanish too! The city is different because it was rich in industrialization, which can make some parts of the city seem a bit gritty. However, it's definitely a diverse city that has the famous Guggenheim Museum. When we got to Bilbao, our tour guid took us around the city where we were able to see Casco Viejo and Plaza Nueva. The locals of Bilbao definitely have a sense of pride for the Basque Country, which is very much admired.
